New Old Lens

I got a really good price on a Nikon300mm f/2.8 D ED. No dirt dust etc inside and the outside is excellent except where some idiot scratched off the serial number. I saw two others on EBay with the same issue. I took these this morning in lower light before the sun came over my roof from the east. Not as good as my Canon 100-400 ii or Nikon 80-400 and no VR of course. This will stay on my tripod. This is the heaviest lens I have owned. I will get my workout just putting it on and taking it off.

Great pics and very nice lens! Only reason I can imagine someone would scratch off the serial number is that it was stolen at some point...
