IS THIS BETTER NOW! HOPE SO! If not, go somewhere else. Now I just need to figure out how to space them to number them.

NOW... ONTO THE C&C..

1. The photo isnt particularly interesting - kind of flat lighting.
2. This one is probably my favorite - but you have a pretty noticeable hotspot along the bottom of the middle subject's fur/hair.
3. MAJOR hotspot on the animal - completely blown. Reducing contrast may help.
4. Same as the first one - kind of flat lighting. Also, the cat's foot is a micrometer from falling out of the frame, it literally feels as though it is falling out. Leave a little bit of space next time.

EUREKA! I actually like the way the 1st two photos showed up together! LOL!

As I was taking the photo of the cougar it started moving at me. That is why it is a little cut off. The cougar and lion exibits at my locar park are concrete and glass so it is hard to shoot photos of them withoug glare or reflection. Their old exibit was more open steel barred. I am still learning on animal photograpy. I am better at my specialty Fire Photography. That is why I am trying to expand so that I can learn to do better photography at more than one thing. I also talked to one of the park employees that I have know for years and he gave me some advice on times and locations to photograph the animals there for better shots.

Shooting through glass? THAT is difficult. You could do some artificial lighting in photoshop if you really wanted to, or just mess with the toning / contrast and make it less dull. And if the cat started walking, then it makes sense that it would be almost out of frame. This is why you should leave extra room when you frame the photo, then crop it out as necessary.

I decreased my zoom to shoot the cougar though every time I decreased the zoom the cougar wanted to keep walking towards me. No matter which window I went to, the cougar wanted to come right up to it. What an attention hog. The outher cougar was sleeping over by the tree logs. I will take some photos one of these days of the exibits so you can see what I had to deal with. Between the sun and shooting through glass it was challenging to say the least. I even got some pictures of a lion in the exibit next to the cougars and decided to change my camera setting to manual and it turned out A LOT BETTER. I'm learning

I use PictureIt10 for my photo editing. Have had the program for about 4 years and it is wonderful. I don't know a thing about Photoshop.

Thank you for the advice on Photoshot, however, at this time it is too cost prohibitive for me. I have been keeping an eye on the price for a while.

This is funny. Once the photos are finally up, hardly any comments. Thank you to those of you who were actually helpful (the ones I singled out to thank). Now if I could just get a little more C&C I would be even happier.

Just bump the thread tomorrow. As long as it is reasonably placed in the Active Topics part of this website, people will look. Also, go to the first post - edit it - and post your pictures there. Then people will reply to the thread.

You could always get photoshop elements and then upgrade at a later date. elements is a good starting point.

AS far as C&C is concerned, I don't have too much to add. Switch the histogram on on your LCD monitor, this will give you an idea on how your shots are exposing and allows you to amend your settings. Again I would say it would be useful for people to know what settings you used, and possibly even what you were trying to achieve.

On the subject of getting C&C, C&C is not compulsory. People do it in their own time using their own energy. I can promise you that if you constantly complain that no-one is CCing your work all you will succeed in doing is irritating people. I still think it is sad that you not once thanked MTVision who spent hours trying to help you. People will also see your attitude in this thread and be more reluctant to CC as they will wonder whether you will take any notice or lose your rag like you did here.

Sometimes in posting photos you will get lots of views and not a lot of comment. That's the time you have to think whether your images have enough impact and challenge yourself to create some impact,

The third and fourth should have been verticals - there's really nothing happening on the sides of the frame and the subject is very close to the edges in both.
