New Posts vs. Active Topics

Why is 'New posts' considered a search, but 'Active Topics' isn't?

You have to wait 30 seconds between hitting the New Posts button, but I can push Active Topics all day long with no error messages.


They both go to pretty much the same place, so what's the difference?

ive been wondering the same thing. If anything Active posts gives you more threads than new posts.
