Here's a new shot from today...let me know what you think.

IMG_2001.jpg

It could use a white balance adjustment, an exposure adjustment, and a curves adjustment to increase contrast.

If I were taking this shot, I would have used a faster shutter speed/smaller aperture to properly expose the sky, and then used a flash to expose the scarecrow. As it is, the washed out sunset just makes me think about what this shot could have been.

was about to say pretty much the same, im not a pro in ps or anything and i havent played with curve layers much but if you play with enough sometimes you help the WB a little,

i hope you dont mind me playing around a little with your photo but this is sort of what i meant

did you use a warming filter on it too or just curves adj

Open in Camera Raw, white balance correction, exposure correction, targeted curves adjustments, then a resize and slight sharpen. To be honest, I played around with the sky for a bit hoping I could recover something, but ended up giving up.

What warmed it up was a targeted curves adjustment on the grass and I bumped vibrance up a bit...I felt like it was a sunset shot, so we should give those greens a bit more pop and I felt the photo should be a bit warmer. Just my take on it, though.

Sorry, v1c70r, looks like our editing kind of hijacked your thread. Sorry about that.

Oh, it's quite alright. Thanks for taking so much time to go in depth about what you were talking about. I agree with everything you guys said. It's pretty funny because when I got home I said the same thing about the picture. "Dang it, I should went with a smaller aperture." Oh well, one day I will put it all together.
