New subject?

My photography club gave us a new subject I'm not fimiliar with. Minimilism. Does any have any tips and tricks for me?

As the name implies just keep the subject matter simple, this is an exaggeration but say one chair in the middle of an otherwise empty room is minimalism...

The trick is to capture what's special about the chair in the process, and I expect that will be the hard part of the assignment.
