I noticed not a lot of people do photography of domesticated animals. Are they just to common?

Can't view the images due to filters on web browsing at work, but yes pets are a common photo subject. I imagine it's because people enjoy capturing things they care about.

On a side note: Passing on advice i was given previously here, best to keep the number of images posted for c&c to a lower number, in addition to numbering each picture, makes it easier for people to comment on.

Wat? You haven't seen A LOT of photos of domesticated animals? That's got to be in the top 5 pieces of subject matter that people shoot.

what kind of dog is that? it's adorable.

Thanks for the advice, I will keep that in mind.

Whoops, I meant I haven't seen very many on this forum.

She's a sibarian husky mix.

1. It looks sideways, not in a good way. Her ears and paws are chopped. Focus looks pretty good and shes totally adorable.

2. Pink part of background is distracting and shes dead center. Cute kitty and good job with eye contact.

3. Head chop and paw chop. Hands should either be part of the photo or not. (Not kinda part of it.) Blown spot upper left takes attention away from kitty.

4. Flower is chopped on the left. A little more DOF would have kept all of the big flower in focus which I think would have looked better. The colors in the background are pleasing. The light pink OOF blob (flower?) camera right is distracting though.

5. Nice focus. Good colors. I'd recrop to remove the bird from dead center and more ROT.

6. Don't really like it. Too dark and I'm not sure what I'm looking at for a focus point.

7. Cute, but bright blue leash is distracting and you should have gotten lower... more on the dogs eye level.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, I feel a little blind for not seeing all that. That was very helpful! :)

Thanks, that ones my favorite as well.

Welcome to TPF LittleKItty! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

#3 - You almost had a magnificent photo...great angle...good lighting...but the cat's head and paws are cropped...try this shot again...I really like this one

#7 - AWESOME JOB! I certainly love this one...the blue leash leads me right into the dogs face which has a tilt and emotion....woohoo...thank you so much for sharing this...awesome...I don't find the blue leash distracting what-so-ever...my eye is drawn to it first and then it leads me to the face. Most people would say to be lower, to be on the "dog's level", but this is not a photo that lends itself well to being that low...the dog has an inquisitive look and so I feel the angle serves to tell its story (which to me is the dog thinking "Seriously? Another photo? Why?")....thanks again for sharing this with us....
