New to photography, First photo setup and taken!

hey guys, I am new to the forum and new to photography. I was finally able to purchase my first DSLR camera about 5 months ago, and I've been working so much that I have only gotten to take random day to day shots. This is the first photo I have actually setup and taken, so any C&C would be greatly appreciated!

Idea is obvious

but few things I'd suggest
#1 - the right index finger is cut
#2 - the women's left hand, fingers are spread - gives it a claw-like appearance.
#3 - and that's me being super picky, don't take it personally I do the same to myself. I could make an argument that by tilting the camera, she isn't actually pregnant, but has a little belly and this really isn't a maternity shoot. Prove me wrong. Again, this is my personal. I do take these shots, use them as album backgrounds but don't show them for that specific reason. However, the belly's that I do show off, can't be denied that those are ovens wit buns

Haha, well she is only 24 weeks pregnant and yes, I am going to do these shots over again when she is further along. I just wanted to mess around and try this type of shot. Considering I never stated she was pregnant, I'm glad to see that you at least noticed, although it could just be that the setup suggests so.

Can't say I see the "claw-like appearance", but I noticed the pinky finger that is cut off while editing and it has been bugging the hell out of me!

Considering this is the first real photo I have taken with my camera, and used a 1-foot portable tripod with a self timer, an arm lamp, and a black bath towel for a background, I would say it came out alright :lol:
