New to photography, getting into B&W!

I'm having a ton of fun learning basic photography skills, so I'd love to have feedback on these shots. These were taken with a Nikon D5100 and the NIKKOR 55-300mm zoom.

I adore B&W photography! The second picture is fantastic...I love the light/dark. I am not grand when it comes to critique but I know what I like...and that is a wicked shot.
