New to Senior sessions.

How much do you get as a retainer to book a session?
The cold hard truth is, if you don't get any money when you book, you don't yet have a client. All you have is a prospect.
People that don't have to put up money to book, have an awful habit of changing their mind and not telling the photographer.

Do you have your contract, model release, use licensing, terms and conditions, business registration/license, business liability insurance, etc, all ready to go?

I'm not sure exactly how that all works in Canada, but it's my understanding the client will own the copyrights to any photos they will have commissioned you to make, unless your contract says other wise and they sign the contract.

I worked in a portrait studio for a long while doing just senior portraits. We did 12 shots. 4 Gown shots, 1 Street Clothing (nicely dressed), 3 Formal, 4 Creative.
