Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Nice to meet everyone.. about a year ago I went from using a PS to a DSLR a Nikon D100 (Yes I know its older but it was my dad’s and I love this camera) I've been shooting more and more with it but it’s hard for me to anticipate what setting I’m going to need to use in advance.. For example, I went to the beach this weekend with 2 things in mind. Just shooting some of the kids and taking pictures of the water in a longer shutter speed to get some nice black and whites.. The pictures of the kids are ok.. but the slow shutter speed images probably should have been done later in the evening or earlier in the morning.. They were really over exposed and if they weren’t the were much faster shutter speed then I wanted..

The second this is sometime in the near future I want to take some pictures (night photos) of some of my buddies cars in a parking garage.. is there anything I should bring or be aware of that might help me out..

Thanks
J

It depends on what you have for equipment, what the lighting in the garage will be like, what color the cars are, your lenses.etc. Fill us in on that stuff and we can better answer.

Become familiar with the exposure triad - shutter speed, lens aperture, and ISO setting - and how the 3 exposure adjustments relate to one another.

Well done photos of a car in a parking gerage are done using supplimental lighting, either a long exposure and using light painting techniques, or using several strobed lights with large light modifiers.

Considering my equipment is very limited.. this is what I have..

Camera - Nikon D100
Lens - [FONT=Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 AF-S DX (Unfortunately its the only one I have at the moment)
filter - Rocket Fish Polarizer
Basic Tripod
Flash - Minolta Auto 200X (Oddly enough this flash works with my d100 but wont work with my dads d7000)
If I need more lights I can always bring a inverter and run a shop lamp..

the car is a Solstice with silver paint
the location is probably going to be a old parking garage.. it has lights but very limited.. which is what I want.. for at lease 2 of the pictures.. on one of the pictures I want to hit it at the front of the car with the lights on. but not completely blinding the camera..

and that's about it.. Hope this helps.. sorry but I know some of my equipment my not be the best but its a start..

thanks again
