I like photo 1, it has a retro look and as someone who doesn't usually like selective colouring, I think the bubbles are fun.

I like the composition of photo 2 and the boy's cheeky face.

I wasn't sure about photo 3 at first but now I am liking the bold colour of the tub and the water splashes.

I am not a fan of photo 4 but then I seldom like maternity photos anyway.

Which brings us to photo 5. I don't have enough technical knowledge so I can only base this on my own reaction to the photo and my first impression was that it needs a tad more room at the top of the photo but, nevertheless, I really, really like photo 5:thumbup:

#1 Nice capture of the child and bubbles ... the background (bridge) is distracting. You should have ran around to get a different view.

#2 Good capture again ... but background distracting ... needs to be cropped closer to child.

#3 Hmm, I am not sure what to say about this one.

#4 I do not see what the father (I am assuming) is doing in the far background. This makes it appear that he is distancing himself ... not a good thing.

#5 Best shot. All the elements work together.

Thanks for the replies. I think I get what you are saying about the distractions. How would you suggest I fix that. The parents wanted to show scenery. And though I knew there was a lot of background, thats part of the reason for the color effects. I thought I was bringing the viewers attention to the front. Should I crop it down a bit more and maybe blur the background?

I agree 100% about Pic #2.

#3 was me practicing with shutter speeds and trying to catch the water in perfect form. Honestly after that and viewing it I liked the look on his face and the vibrant colors and it became one of my favs.

#4 I wanted to go a little outside of the box and get a close up belly shot. Too many times I see fathers removed from the focus of the overall shoot when it comes to maternity. So I was just looking for an interesting way to have him in the shot. I get your point about him being distanced. But I do have him in a number of other shots. So this photo next to the others, I felt, was interesting.

#5 Has to be quite honestly my favorite Pic I have taken. This is funny given the fact that I had to do alot of Post to save it from the mistake of having to high of a ISO set. There was a terrible amount of noise. Im glad others like it.
