If you like what you're doing and having fun, that's what's really important. What kind of camera are you using? For a beginner, those, especially the photo with the lad wearing a hat, aren't bad at all.

These shots were taken with 35mm canon rebel. I have just up graded to the digital rebel. Thanks alot for looking.

They are small (and I think you are having a little compression problem but they look a little pixelated (big boxes of the same color)) but the composition of these especially the boy in the hat, are right on.

so those are scans from film? well you have some problems with scan quality there.
