I have not tried this technique but I consider the source ("MedCram" on Sep 28, 2025) to be reliable. It does not look particularly expensive and should work with most camera equipment (length 14:08):

I haven’t watched the video yet - maybe later. The Nikon D40 captured some IR without filtering, specifically the business end of a TV remote when pushing buttons. I haven’t tried the D750.

Seriously, watch this clip. It is an ENTIRELY NEW TECHNIQUE, and that makes it significant. The filter in this case does not just reduce the "irrelevant" spectrum content it converts much of it to near infrared. It has potential.
