New website?

Thinking of making the switch to Viewbook because of ease and convenience. The ads will be taken off once I pay. Question is how important is a host as opposed to your own site? Have to say that I am voting for Viewbook simply for control and convenience. Let me know what you think. I am not kidding. I can use your help. If you look at the site please post a comment here.
