I took this the other night... i was playing around and just so happend the dog turned my way. I did a little processing to it, upped the saturation and added the vignette. I'm torn about cloning out his paws in the background. Do you think it's a little over exposed? Comments and suggestions are all welcome!! Thanks!!

The composition does not work for me. You cut the dog's ears and half of its face is darker than the other because of the vignette. Also there's nothing to look at in the left part of the frame. The out of focus paws in the background indeed look a bit weird, but cloning them is not going to improve the shot dramatically IMHO.

I really like it. Even though you did cut off part of his/her ear, and there's a slight overexposure on the bridge of the dogs nose, I think it all works. I love the vignetting and the bright bold color of the background. Focus is good, right on the blue eye. Great shot IMO. Oh yea I think you should leave the paws

thanks for both of your feedback! admittedly i am drawn to different types of composition than most, and appreciate your feedback as i'm trying to broaden my composition horizons. the vignette does make his face a tad bit darker, but he's darker on that side anyway so that doesn't bother me personally.

brettmc, thanks! i love his startling blue eye, and probably one of the reasons i like this photo.

The vignetting is too hard, and I like a lot of vignetting in most cases. Change the shape of it so it doesn't follow the edge so strictly, and take the opacity down just a bit. Cloning the feet out wouldn't be a bad idea either as it looks like something is coming out of his head.

i feel so alone :(

i love the composition.
i love the expression on the dogs face.
i love the vignetting (big fan of heavy vignettes here).
and i actually like the paws as is...it gives away the position in which the dog is seated, and that dog is straight up loungin' :) if you removed the paws, the dog could be sitting...standing...or lying down. i like knowing that he's lying down just relaxing.
and i'm really diggin' the aqua hue you got there...is it the bottom of a pool?

overall...i say

i lol'ed at the feet sticking out of his head. But the vignetting is too hard and looks to fake. and looks so because the center is really exposed compaired to the edge.

Also is that blue carpet?

thanks for the feedback! i reduced the vignette. is this better?

It's actually a kiddie pool that he lounges in. Not quite bright blue carpet :)

I didn't mind the vignette before but it still looks great
