Newbie; Gerber Baby??

Hi there, I'm new to photography but have been interested for quite some time. Purchased a Nikon D3000 about a week ago and shot at a soccer game a few days later. Just wanted to post a picture I love from the mix. Some c+c would be great.

A good start; a few thoughts: You seem to have missed focus on the eyes (critical to good portraiture), the background while softly focused (good) is still rather distracting. Try looking for homogeneous even backgrounds, and lastly perhaps a crop to mover her a little off-centre.

Thanks for the comment. I did notice the focus while I was editing, or playing around with it rather, that the focus was not on the eyes. I forget how tough taking pictures of my 2 year old is haha. How do i get the pictures to show up directly on the page rather than clicking a link?
