Newbie Intro

Howdy,

Just a first quick post to introduce myself.

I'm Mike and I discovered a love for photography about four years ago when I was made redundant and looking for work.

Because money was tight at the time I made do with my iPhone 4S and a few post processing apps I bought in the Appstore. Since then I've got heavily involved in online iPhoneography communities, sold licenses to some of my work on Eyeem, won various competitions and had work published in the States on one occasion.

I still love shooting with my iPhone but more recently I decided to take the big step into the world of "proper" photography (as my local camera club call it) and bought myself a Nikon D5500 with a couple of lenses to add to the iPhone.

I'm never happier than when I have a camera in my hand and I'm creating images. I love the grounding my iPhone work has given me but I've so much more to learn. I'm looking forward to being part of this community
