Learn how shutter speed and aperture work together with the ISO. Also experiment with your camera shooting modes, (automatic, shutter priority, aperture priority, manual) and know when it is best to use them.

So till now what I know to look/notice in the photographs is :
1. Depth of field and Composition.

What else is there on which I can/should study more?
Also do tell me if the question is not making any sense.

Well the most obvious omission is action or lack thereof.

You have
composition
DOF = function of aperture
The missing element is the function of shutter speed. = Motion or lack thereof.

Here is a start in the study of motion

You do see a a large portion of people focusing on razor thin DOF and practicing when and where it works.

When I first put a 50mm f/1.4 on my camera you can bet I opened it up and started taking shots of just about everything. Trying to find new ways to "tell a story" or display my subject.
DOF is very important to understand, it can make or break a shot, and experimenting with it is very important.
Shutter speed is also very important and can be just as big of a factor for those creative shots. Motion blur, stop motion, long shutters at night, etc.

So spread the love and experiment with your cameras settings and do some trial and error to see what it is you like in a photograph. I would start off with your shutter and aperture.
