For me it looks to soft, lacks details and is very washed out - leaving the newborn looking more like a pink blob than anything else. From what I can see, it just strikes me that you could have done more with what you had to work with.

I like the idea but my attention is automatically pulled toward the giant flower. For this type of pose I would take the headband off so your attention is directed toward the face.
