Newborn Photo Shoots - C&C

These are a few pictures from my first two newborn sessions. I am still learning and had a few problems with lighting because I like to use natural light but both of these houses I visited had very limited natural light. Any comments or critiques would be much appreciated!!

First thing i see in most of them is your watermark. Especially the second...it's HUGE! lol.

Lol I know, I have been playing with different watermarks and now all my pictures have different ones. I definitely need to keep trying to find a good one that I like. That's not HUGE

Well done, #3 is my favored picture, #4 could use a tighter crop but thats just me.

#3 looks like she is holding a ball in her hands, the only one that shows a bit of promise is #4

I use Lightroom 3.4. I really love it. I am big into editing and making pictures look vibrant and dramatic and it really makes it easy to do.

I use Lightroom for 95% of my workflow. Do you use the wonderful presets that are downloadable all over the net? I find those and then tweak them to my liking and then create my own. You should try it!

#3 kind of creeps me out, but I love the rest of them. It looks like she's only holding a head instead of holding a whole baby.

Agree w/ Sammie on #3. Maybe try it from a different angle, more of a profile style to get the baby’s body in there a little more so it doesn’t look like just a head. Also, since the Mom's hands are in so much of the photo I would have had her trim her nails to the same length. Really adorable!

The lighting isn't very flattering in this session. I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks this, but #3 looks like the mother is holding a coconut instead of her newborn's head? #4 doesn't strike me as a newborn shoot, and actually gives off a little bit of a depressing vibe. The child being alone on a bed, even wrapped in its blanket gives it the sense of abandonment. #5 appears to be over-exposed in patchy areas of the baby's face and would look best without a sepia tone PP style. Just my two cents.
