For those who photograph newborns..

what equitment do you use for photographing newborns? I've seen alot of photographers just use window light, blanket stand and a ottoman bean bag.
Do you go around to the parents home and set up or do you call them into your studio?

I've been researching this myself, as I'm getting into photography and want to concentrate on children and newborn portraits. Here are a few other suggested items that you will want to consider:
space heater (to keep the baby warm in the room)
step ladder for overhead shots
backdrop
baskets (with weights to weigh them down)
blankets
stretch knit wraps or cheesecloth

I don't, so you might not want to read my response. IMO, there's nothing like being able to control the light, or introduce more light when there isn't enough coming in a window. So get some flash(es) and some light modifiers if you want to make it a business.

I prefer they come to me, but I can be flexible. I have a mini studio/room that i use and know when the light is hitting best. I use OCF and my light diffusors are an umbrella and softbox
If the natural light light is hitting well i might just use one light source
For my lens i prefer the 70-200 2.8, but I also use my 24-70 and 85mm

I use constant, mounted lights with umbrella reflectors so I don't startle the baby with flashes.

I also like natural light when it's good, though I'll also make use of reflector panels to direct the light, or enhance it when needed.

As far as lens selection goes, I generally stick with Sigma's f/2.8 17-50 and 50-150 for APS-C sensors (I shoot on a Nikon D7100).
