Newborn tips please... I should have hired a professional!

This is my gorgeous newborn son! I'm looking for some good tips on posing and editing newborn pictures. These are a few that I have taken (uploaded from my phone so quality is off) anyway I decided to be cheap and not hire a professional photographer because "it couldn't be that hard to do them myself, I have a camera" I was wrong! I don't want to regret not hiring a photographer and ending up with nothing but crappy pictures later but I'm pretty sure I can't talk my husband into paying for one and now my baby is already 3 weeks old! Does anyone have any good tips or suggestions for editing these to make them better or tips for posing a newborn, it's harder than I thought, especially with a 2 year old in the mix
