I think you need to check with a lawyer in regards to that. Its different here in canada but I bet a local law office would be able to tell you right over the phone.

I believe the photo's belongs to the photographer, and he may or may not sell it to you. There is no law in the land that I know of that would force someone to sell you something that legally belongs to him. Did you signed a contract? if so, review that contract and see what it say. 1700 is outrageous for prints...I mean, just how many prints did you ordered?? :er:
