How do you pronounce Nikon?

I always thought Nigh-kon was right but I here people saying Nee-kon on some videos...... especially Asians, they say Nee-Kon.

I would go with the Asian pronouciation since it is an Asian brand.

i say "nick-in" just to be silly.

I just say "the GOOD cameras." ;)

Asians/Middle Easterners do not use long form vowels in their pronounciation. Westerners often but mistakenly use the long I in their pronounciation i.e. Nighkon, Eyeraq and Eyeran. However, using the long form vowel pronounciation is generally accepted nowadays. Besides whether you call it a Nighkon or Neekon it is still a Nikon. :)

Neither. Not drawn out into 'ee' or 'igh', just a short 'i', Nikon.

LOL, When in Rome. Call it whatever the people call it in your area. I'm sure Nikon doesn't care as long as you're buying their gear.

Besides, I prefer to call it "Can-None" ;)

More like "Can-Not"!!!!

*rimshot*

I've always said it with a long 'i' sound - Nigh-kon. But in the UK and in Asian countries it seems like the more common pronunciation is with a short 'i' sound.

It's like "CARE-a-be-an" vs "ca-RIB-be-an."

It is the same as calling McDonald's Mickey D, McD, McDo, etc. McDonald's doesn't really care as long as you buy from them.
