Night Sky Beginner

hey everyone!!
I am trying my hand at shooting the night sky for the first time (star trails mostly) BUT I have a Nikon d3100 and the ISO only goes to 100, which I'd like it to be around 50. Any good way to balance that some other way to get a darker photograph that isn't super over exposed? Thanks!!

Use the lowest native ISO and a longer exposure.

For star trails some number of short (15 seconds or so) exposures that are then stacked is the hot set-up for doing night sky photos.

30sec, wide aperture, and high ISO stack will work MUCH better than a single long shot at ISO50.
