Nikkor 24-120mm VR lens

Anyone have any opinions of this lens? It'll be going on my F100. I tried it out at the nearest Wolf on the body and I love the feel and autofocus. Any input on sharpness would be great. It's certainly not cheap but what's the point of a nice body and pos glass?
