Someone let me use this lens (always within his sight:() for a little while yesterday. All I can say is - HOLY MOLY:thumbup:

No wonder this thing is rarer than hen's teeth and cost more than some second hand cars around here, if you can ever find someone to willing to sell one.

Simply beautiful color rendering, very flare resistant, sharp as sharp can be right from 1.4. Here I was thinking that Leica was the epitome of medium wides with their Summicron, this old Nikkor does not have to take second billing.

If you ever get the opportunity to try one, count yourself fortunate.

Sorry,

Same as I generally don't like to comment on other people's work, I don't really like to post images anymore either.

Why?

Well, I'm no position to pass judgement on someone else's work. If a person has a technical issue with a specific photo or a problem they are having then there are some very knowledgeable people on here more than willing to step into the fray. Very often with very helpful advice as well.

When an image is presented as an example of what they are achieving then I presume they themselves find the image representative of what they are wanting to showcase. Who am I to pass judgment on it if it's what they like and are proud of. I'll sometimes say that I like a particular image if it's singularly appealing to me.

In the same vein I don't need approbation for my photographic work other than from whom commissioned it, weather myself, my family, friends or customers. Some might consider this a snobbish or elitist attitude but it's not meant to be at all. There are so many outstanding images presented here that I feel mine would just pale in comparison. Some of the work on here is sometimes inspiring.

Then why did you go ahead and tell us about how great it is?

you don't have to ask for CC. It's a photography forum, so it makes sense to share photograph. It's not a competition, but if that's how you feel then who am I to argue otherwise. I'm just saying an example picture of what you saw would be nice, that way others can see and experience what you have. :)

The 24mm f/1.4 is better....by alot too. Not to mention it's about half the price, and a real bargain at $2200.
