Nikkor 70-300mm

I see a few people with this lens in their signature, so I'm curious as to how they like it? I've read Ken Rockwell's reviews but a few more opinions would be appreciated.

It's an OK lens as long as you have plenty of light and don't need fast focus.
I disagree with Rockwell, though, the ED version of the lens is worth the extra money. Just the better build quality of the ED is worth the extra cash, and I think the image quality is better with the ED, only slightly, but better.

For the money it's definitely a good buy, unless you want to go with the 70~200mm 2.8f.
