I have had a Nikon 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G for a long time and I like it as a basic zoom lens that does well. Recently, I just received Nikon 24-120mm 1:3.5-5.6G bundled with a camera.

I know there is a slight difference between the two focal lengths, but My questions are: What are the differences between these two lenses? Does one have better quality than the other? Are there any features found on one that the other does not have? Or should I just sell the one?

Thanks!

Couldn't find much info of the Nikon 24-120mm none F4 model.
I think this is an old model, I think the 18-105mm is newer and thus technically superior to the 24-120mm
I would keep the 18-105mm and sell the other lens but again I am going only by logical assumption and not real knowledge.

BTW if you really want to move up the quality lens line get a constant aperture lens like f4 or even better f2.8 lenses.

If I remember correctly the Nikon 24-120 3.5-5.6 is actually touted as one of Nikon's worst zooms ever made.

From the numbers the 18-105mm is a kit lens for dx, 24-105mm is a kit lens for fx, the newer 24-105mm is constant f4
