hey everyone i was wondering if anyone has the Nikon 35mm 1.8g DX lens. i was wondering what f stop should i put it at so it can be its sharpest i know that every f stop should be different depending on the lighting. i was just wondering whats the most common f stop on this lens that everyone uses. if someone can please help me that would be great.

According to dpreview tests, f/3.5 is about the sharpest aperture. For the sample they tested. From about f/2.8 to f/6.3 is was pretty darn flat, though.

do you have the link for that i would like to read upon it if you dont mind

thank you so much that helped me out so much now i know i can shoot it at 3.5 and get great results.

I use mine between f/2.2 and f/8. Mine has diminished contrast at f/1.8 so I only use it there when I have too. The DoF at f/8 is as deep as I ever seem to need and at f/2.2 it is shallow enough to isolate things from the background. This image was shot at f/3.2 last summer Black cat from last summer.webp
