Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-20E III

Saving for a Nikkor 70-200mm 2.8G lens. While I'm at it I mind as well consider a Nikon 2X teleconverter (TC-20E III), for the extra 200mm's. Anyone with experience with this product? How much IQ trade off is there? Could one use this with a Nikkor 105mm 2.8G lens?

Don't settle for less than the Version III if you do go with the TC-20...I haven't used it myself but from what I've read the IQ loss is minimal in comparison to the previous models. If I were you I'd look at the 1.7 which is a nice compromise

I have the Nikkor 70-200 VR II and the TC 1.7 II and I find it to be a good setup. I'm at work so I can't post any examples at the moment. I still find the setup a bit short for wild bird photography but IQ is still very good IMO. I have never used the TC 2.0 II or III so I can't comment on them.
