Well done! You shouldn't be disappointed. The D80 is great bang for buck IMO.

Now time to start saving for more lenses

One thing I would add when you can spare a few bucks is the 50mm f/1.8, which will give you a cheap, sharp, fast lens.... and unlike the D40x your D80 will autofocus perfectly with it.
