nikon d5100 vs sony Alpha NEX-5?

i have been looking into getting a camera for a while and i found these two which one do you think would be better for filming? i also need this camera to take good photos but i am more focused on film quality which one do you recommend for a beginner?

Since they are both digital, I don't see how you will do any filming.

For many - filming = videoing, notwithstanding that motion pictures (films/videos) are just a long series of still images displayed at 25 or more frames per second so the human brain perceives the series of stills as natural motion.
