Nikon D5100 DSLR surfaces with 16.2 megapixel sensor, 1080p video recording -- Engadget

I'm so happy for Nikon peeps. Finally a camera that will probably rival (if not exceed) the video abilities of my beloved Canon. If you were thinking about switching to Canon for video, hold off until the first reviews of this baby come out.

Some nice features (autofocus while filming and better low-light than Canon), but not enough to make me switch from Canon. Got too much invested in Canon glass now.

Nope, it's still where it always was. Your shots won't lose quality as a result of new kit coming on the market.

One of the group of photographers I meet up with still runs a D70. He wisely invested in glass, and not every new body that came on the market. His shots are stunning, and are better than most of the guys running around with the newest and latest.
