Nikon equivalent of a 70-200mm is usm f4l or 2.8?

Well the title says it all. I'm strictly a Canon user, but like to browse the competition from time to time.

I'm also a Canon user but I believe Nikon makes a 70-200 F2.8 VR and a 200 F2 VR, same focal lengths and apertures as the Canon L series options. The only example photos I've seen are from an Australian photographer who does some great work. Mostly weddings but also some beautiful car and landscape shoots.

Uncertain on F4 though.

nikon does make a 70-200 2.8 vr lens, i have one and it is terrific,

i am not sure i understand what usm f4l means

usm....is a fast Canon in lens focus motor.

F4........ is the maximum aperture.

L....is the designator for Canon's (white) pro line of lenses.

Except not all L glass is white. Usually only the bigger ones are.
