First off, let me start by saying that I'm a noob to photography but have been studying and have already found out how limiting the kit lens on my T1i is.
So...
I happened to find these adapter rings on ebay that let you fit an old Nikon AIS lens onto the EOS bodies and got a bit intrigued after seeing some of the used prices on such lenses.
I do realize that I would have to control aperture and focus manually but I think this would actually be good for me to help build skill.
My question is, what should I be looking for to get a decent AIS lens? Certain brands?
Specifically I would be looking for something to try some macro and something with a bit longer focal length than the kit lens. I also plan on getting the Canon 50/1.8 for all around shooting.
