Self portrait?

I think you missed focus a bit. The closer shoulder is sharper than the lovely face and engaging smile.

Patrice, no it was not a self portrait. It is a friend of mine, I was taking her pictures the other day. I never even noticed that the shoulder does appear to be what is focused on. Darn.

I would try open the eyes up. They're almost dead black on my monitor. With a bit of life in there, this photo has a great deal of charm. Technically, it's not very good, but it feels like a very genuine moment, a truly candid photograph.

Amolitor, I am not the best editor in the world.. Having to use Picasa ATM, I have no idea how I could even try and do that! I believe it is her makeup, even it color her eyes are very squinted.

I'm sorry, not open them WIDER, I mean "open" then photographically, make them appear lighter in the image. Picasa probably doesn't have a dodge tool, does it? You might be able to play with "fill light" and so on and get something good out, but it's risky since it'll affect the entire image and probably hurt the rest of it more than it helps the eyes.

Amolitor, sadly it does not And the fill light doesn't change the lighting at all around the eyes.
