Hey, I'm not too keen on spending $250.00 AUS plus on a new flash.
Is there by any chance anyone selling a second hand one for cheaper?

I think vivitar makes one for about $100. Look into older unit sb80dx - you can use it in auto (non-ttl) and manual modes.

Have you looked into the SB-400 at all? It might suit your needs and is about half the price.

The SB-400 isn't bendable is it?

The head tilts so that it can bounce. However it doesn't swivel so that if you turn the camera sideways into portrait orientation, you can't bounce off the ceiling.

I'm looking to do mostly portrait and promotional band photo's, a SB-400 wont give me justice on that part!

just get two vivitars for the money, and maybe some cactus v4's. Once flash in my opinion isn't going to to do justice.
