Nikon Warranty Questions

Ok well I have decided I want my new Nikon D40 to have warranty. But I am little confused on how to go about getting it. I have read around but I havent had one clear answer.
1)I know I have to send in the warranty slip I got with the package.
2)What else do I have to send in with it?
3)Is there a time limit I have to send it in by before it activates?
4)What exactly does Nikon D40 warranty all cover?

You dont have to send in the warranty slip at all. You can go straight to the Nikon site and, register it. It is Nikon Cameras

Nikon USA gives you a one year warranty. They extend it to two years if you register it within ten days after the purchase; five years for lenses.

Nikon Canada doesn't make you go through any of this BS. You get two years on bodies, five years on lenses, no questions asked.
