Understandable.
I gave up photography for years because of family and career.
My only other options were divorce and to run away to join the circus.
Life often gives us unpalatable situations with no real choice.

The only thing worse than too much work is not enough mate ;)

Saying that I've been lucky last year. I've had enough time to stop and enjoy the scenery, and a job that takes me to some really nice places. But yeah sometimes the grind takes over and there is nothing you can do except work, take care of your commitments and just about function on a daily basis. The two years before we were working all hours we could to get through a contract, too much work and no extra pay. We just got paid for our standard 40hr week despite putting in 60-100 hours a week but we kept the contract and our jobs so I feel your pain!

Yup, I remember those days. One day when driving to appt @ 2 hrs away, I saw a colt nursing from its mother. I thought how cute, then I saw a cow doing same. All, Of a sudden I realized it was SPRING! The world was flying by and I was too busy to notice.
but, you gotta rake it in while you can, you never know about tomorrow.
Hang in there,
Nancy

I have like no time for photography. I work six days a week or more. fifty, sixty plus hours. My alarm goes off at just after 4 a.m. six days a week. A while back seven days a week. I have a little side income on top of that which doesn't take much time but still some. Kids, a wife, always wanting attention things to do never ends.

I started carrying a camera in the car. But, like I saw something I thought of taking a picture of the other day. But look at the clock, I don't have time to stop.
Just, like no time. So last couple days I haven't even bothered taking a camera with me when I leave in the morning. which I know, I should be always carrying one. Not that ill probably see anything anyway to shoot or ill have the time to stop anyway..

So set aside one day a month, explain to the wife and kids that you will be taking one day a month to do something just for yourself. Then go out and shoot pictures. If you can set aside 2 days a month - or eventually move from one day to two. Me I'm lucky in this regard, I can pretty much go out every weekend. But believe me your wife and kids will thank you in the long run, because you'll be a lot less stressed when you do spend time with them.

Robbins has some good suggestions. But I'll modify it a little. Take a day for yourself. But also take a day for your wife. Do whatever she wants. Make it a habit, and you'll have lots more time to do whatever you want to do.
