It's not an easy photo to critic because I'm not sure what I am looking at. The object on the right looks like a block of cement perhaps??

Hi Dab,

thanks for looking . I cannot answer directly your question, as I want to perceive what you all perceive while looking at what you see.

But I may tell you that this is straight out of the camera, no postprocessing other than simple switch to B&W and frame. No cropping.

It's a thread about beauty and the perception or grade of perception of beauty and uglyness.

Dab, I hope this helps you a bit further. Let's see what others may think, feel or perceive too, before telling more, if that is okay for you.

cool. it looks like a mountain top buried in clouds with a house sticking above them on the edge of a limestone cliff.

looks underwater to me, something disturbed the dirt, then it clouded out.

feels chalky and dusty to me. its hard to breathe there sort of thing.
but then i see what looks like a plastic cup on the ground, and.. my 2nd feeling is then frozen and foggy?.. hmm

My guess is that it is a piece of wood and a piece of cement sticking out of a puddle or water and the water's a little cloudy.

I think the picture could use a little more contrast, since the grey tones in this picture are dominant.
