Noise

Getting horrible sh!t on my -2 exposures at the moment. Cropped out this section. This was a daytime shot. FL 27mm, exp 1/160, F29 (I know, just playing with settings), ISO 100. Handheld - hence the blur.

Surely the noise shouldn't be that bad? Just noticed this in the last couple of weeks. Is my camera ****ed or my lens? .

What exactly are we doing here? Are you testing the camera and lens combo? What kind of camera , what focal length, why -2? ,

Hi Joel. HDR forum. This is what I get on my underexposed shot. Its an XTi. And as mentioned above focal length is 27mm. Its an 18-55 kit lens.

What ISO did you use?

ISO 100. It was a reasonably warm day but I wouldn't expect it to have been warm enough to cause noise...I'm sure it didn't help mind you.

did you bump up the brightness after you shot it? what does the original look like?

Hi sw1tch - no I didn't make any adjustments to the image. Below is the 0 EV . Actually there doesn't seem to be a whole big difference in appearance (other than the noise) :/
