Noob question...please help

I took some pics the other day and when I try to use image shack it says the image is too big....how do I re-size them ?

dont use imageshack, it sucks

get a free flickr account, much much better

but to answer your question, any image processing software (photoshop, lightroom, paint shop, even gimp [free]) will have a resize option

Okay thank you. I use Gimp....do you know what tool it is to do the re-sizing ? I barely even know how to use that

I really hate to say things like this, but use google.

I typed Gimp how to resize image and got a bunch of hits, including this youtube video

And yes, I did look through it and it does speak on how to resize...starts about 1:50 in

Cutting out parts of the picture (first 1:50 of the video) is called cropping
After 1:50, she discusses resizing images, which is making it smaller/bigger...usually done by changing the relative % size of the actual pixel width of the image.

An image that is 5000 pixels x 2500 pixels may be about 10mb. Resized to 1000 pixels x 500 pixels, that picture is the same image, but at a size of say 2mb

Can also use TinyPic as they re-size the pictures for you. Flickr is much better though
