noob raw & jpeg help

I have a Canon 500D rebel. I need to know how do i tell if i am shooting in Raw or Jpeg? I have misplaced the manual so i can not look in there. Anyone know?

to shoot in raw, when you go onto your computer the image will show as a .CR2
IF the menu is the same as the 450D then to change the mode
press menu > look for quality > click which one you want
