Nah...most of the time the post just gets moved to the "proper" area per the beginner thread rules. Dont want to clutter up the newbie section with silly questions about equipment or software.

This is obviously not a beginners discussion. It needs to be moved to off topic chat.

Well for those that haven't been around long enough to know, the Beginner's forum became a catch all, gignormous mess. Any one and everyone was starting threads in the forum, including some 'cough' pros, and TPF membership indicated they wanted something done about it.

The Beginner's forum description was first changed back in March, and has been changed once more since to better define what is appropriate content. Camera brand specific forums were added, and been expand to include other brands since.

People tend to start a thread in the first forum that seems even remotely close to the topic subject, rather than explore all the other forum possibilities. So most moves threads get moved to a forum further down the forum's list.

Suffice to say TPF staff will never be able to please everyone.

I'm seeing a lot of "What lens" "What camera body" type posts being made in the Beginners subsection and would like to remind users that this is not the correct place for posting such questions. If you want to post about equipment relaited issues please use the following subsections and not beginners, thank you:

Photography Equipment & Products - for general/any equipment retailed threads

Canon - for Canon specific questions (note section is split into lenses, accessories and general)

Nikon - for Nikon specific questions (note section is split into lenses, accessories and general)

Sony - for Sony specific questions (note section is split into lenses, accessories and general)



In addition I would like to remind members who are working photographers (be you highly experienced or beginners in the photography working world) that you should be posting all relevant threads/subjects on professional work in the following site subsection
The Business District
