When I canned my toms & peppers I was told my garden was too neat. Well, now I a have uncanned them & there are footprints in the aisles.

That is one large garden Ron! I have started my first ever garden this year but, it's nothing nearly as large as that. Maybe someday.

We have neighbors dogs, & deer tromping through & a groundhog watching.

Well, a "Zen" garden is raked out every day, so that footsteps don't mar the surface of your contemplation. A vegetable garden, on the other hand, has all kinds of traffic, not all of it human, as you already know. So garden perfection is when your veggies ripen happily, and the non-human visitors stay away. The latter is not an easy feat to accomplish.

Some parts of the deer can end up at the dinner table; some on top of crackers...a groundhog will have to go to another vegie garden at a reserve and the children...well...if they are mine they will end up at the adoption centers...:???: we got doggies and one of them is in the verge of finding a place to live but he is a good garden assistant so we cannot get rid of him yet...
