Not using Light box right?

I recently bought a Dynaphos 24x24 Light cube and I'm wondering if i'm not using it correctly somehow. I have it set up with three lights, Top, left and right, they are coil bulbs, 6200 spectrum (not sure if that is right I just know the person I bought it from at the camera store recommended getting above 5000, not sure what it stands for but they are bright bright white)

Anyway I'm not sure if I just don't have it set up right, or if my camera is not in the right setting or if I don't have it in the right setting to get the full potential but I find the camera still has a hard time capturing details and my macro really isn't up to what I feel it should be. I believe it was listed at having a really good macro function but I can do better with my phone :\.

Any tips or advice welcome, I'm trying to find a manual for my camera so I can start to learn about it more.
