Now Where Did That Dang Lens Cap Go? A Query for All

Also wondering why your shooting naked/boxers? The another question, what happened to the other 1%? Is this when you shoot wearing only your red toga?
DING DING DING We have a winner. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice.

Actually, that 1% is for late nights when Jose is in the house and I can't remember. Who am I kidding? He's a permanent guest.

Also, what pictures are you taking in your under/naked?? lol
I refuse to answer that question on grounds it may incriminate me.

I never know where they are. Don't use them much. If I really want them I will ask my kids which one of them ran off with em.

I usually put mine in my left rear pants pocket.....or trousers.....or pantelones....for all of my international compadres.

You missed like 100+ languages, give or take. :lmao:

In my back pocket or in someone else's pocket.. lol

In my camera bag. Usually in the pocket the body came out of, but sometimes in the pocket the lens came out of.

If I don't have my camera bag (if I'm wearing my vest, or maybe cargo pants), I put them in the pocket the lens came out of.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that wonders these things! I usually put it in my right back pocket. Off topic, but another question I've been wondering...do you keep your camera in your bag with a lens attached, or do you always disassemble it? I always take the lens off of the camera, but I'm wondering if I'm just being too anal. lol

Also, what pictures are you taking in your under/naked?? lol

I just drop mine in the camera bag.

Sammie, I had asked this question a while back. I found out that keeping the lens on the body seems to be of the popular opinion the best way to go. First, you are not wearing out the contacts/mechanicals of the attachment area. Secondly, every time you take the lens off the body you are giving opportunity for FOD (Foreign Objects or Debris) to enter the camera body and the rear glass of your lens. Since I have gotten my camera (I only have one lens) I have taken the lens off once.

I always remove the lens. 2 reasons - 1, I don't know which lens I will want to use the next time I use my camera. 2, It won't fit in the bag with a lens on it.

If you're worried about FOD getting in the camera body - well, they make body caps too.

Although - with just one lens, it doesn't make much sense to take it off every time you put the camera up. So, yes - in your situation, I would do the same thing as you.

No one admitting to using the "cap keepers" - nylon type strings attached to the lens, with an circular elastisized band that wraps around the lens? The hood swings in the wind as you do your shooting.

Yeah, my Swahili is a little rough...

I think you meant the "Cap" swings in the wind........ Kundalini already stated that he sometimes shoots in the nude.....he already has too much swinging in the wind at that point.

No but it does provide some interesting possibilities for cap storage. For shooting in the nude I would just hang it off your...uh tripod.

Back left pocket. Always. The one not occupied by my wallet.

Not to sound like your mother, or anyone's mother. But you shouldn't keep your wallet in your back pocket. It can throw your spine out of alignment when sitting, especially driving. I found this out the hard way.

I only use the lens cap for storage.. It's in the bag all day long if I'm out shooting- at least I hope so.. Usually I need to look for it after the day is done because it's not where I think I put it...

I usually always keep a lens on a body and extra lenses are stored with the lens cap and body cap on..

I don't wear boxers.. ;)

Mines pretty much flat....its not like I have any money in it or anything. Mine is like that guys in "Catch Me if You Can" with all the labels that he peeled off.

Thanks mom. :lmao:

I'm a college kid. My wallet never has anything in it. I carry it purely for show.
