OCF Triggers... Help please.

Some of you may recall, a week or two ago I posted about the old Vivitar 728AFC that I found in the house...

Well I would like to try it out as an OCF unit... I looked on eBay to see if I could get a trigger for it... And well... There are hundreds of them... But I have no clue what I need to make it compatible with my Canon EOS 50D.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Also, I have a stand to put it on... But what type of bracket/adapter do I need to make it compatible with an umbrella?

Not sure if the Vivitat 728AFC has a PC outlet on it...if not, you'd want a shoe-mount type of either optical slave, or a trigger that has a "shoe" fitting on it.

I'll have to check that out.... I don't think it has any outputs/inputs on it. When I bought it (early 90's) I didn't know anything about photography and probably just got the cheapest thing going... I don't remember buying it.
