Lol it took me awhile to actually figure out what that was... Thought it was a rock at first then noticed it was a marshmallow haha.
I too like the second one more, although it is a bit underexposed. I also would have tried to put a bit more focus into the ash right on the front so you can get that nice reddish-orange with a more crisp clear pattern of the ash on the white. If only you had a macro lens too haha. Cool capture though.
Both seem a little dark. I would try a smaller aperture to get more marshmallow in-focus, and a longer exposure, plus faster ISO, perhaps. Make sure you eat a few good ones, too. Yum.
On camping trips, it's popular to "cook" these on sticks over a fire and eat them. They're very sweet and tasty. Occasionally, a marshmallow will accidentally fall into the fire.
So am I, and Kazooie's photos are making me want sweets even more than usual. Maybe he should do a photo set dedicated to sweets, but shot in unusual ways?
Something about these that I like..can't put my finger on. I think it is the soothing color of the ash...smooth grey. The left one tells more of a story...I like. The right one is a simpler subject, but more complex elements are introduced when you get closer! Photography is very interesting in that way IMO.
